Actors Company

Actors Company is Hunter Drama’s advanced, audition-only training and performance program for dedicated young actors who demonstrate exceptional skill, focus and commitment.

Designed as a two-year developmental pathway, Actors Company offers intensive training alongside high-level performance opportunities, preparing students for further study, professional work and elite youth theatre experiences.

Due to the high standard of applicants, Actors Company operates as two interconnected cohorts:

• First-Year Actors Company, and
• Second-Year Actors Company.

While the two groups will collaborate throughout the year in shared workshops and company activities, each year level has a distinct focus.

First-Year Actors Company

First-year members concentrate on:

• advanced skills development across acting, voice, movement and ensemble work
• devising and original theatre-making
• rehearsal process and professional working practices

The year culminates in an end-of-year showcase of original work, devised and performed by the company.

Second-Year Actors Company

Second-year members focus on:

• refining advanced performance technique
• ensemble leadership and collaboration
• the development and presentation of a major production, serving as the capstone performance of the program

Actors Company also covers audition preparation, rehearsal etiquette, professional conduct, creative risk-taking and ensemble responsibility.

Entry into Actors Company is via invited audition only and is offered to students who demonstrate a strong grasp of performance fundamentals, creative maturity and a readiness for a demanding rehearsal process.

Actors Company is intended for students who are serious about acting and willing to commit fully. Due to the intensity of the program, students with significant outside commitments (such as competitive sport or extensive dance schedules) are encouraged to carefully consider whether this program is the right fit for them and their family.

Members of Actors Company are expected to display:

• a high level of self-discipline and focus
• respect for ensemble and rehearsal processes
• a strong work ethic and commitment to growth

Actors Company represents the highest level of acting training at Hunter Drama and is suited to performers who are ready to challenge themselves artistically, creatively and professionally.
