Alison Hodge

Alison has more than 10 years of teaching experience, as well as many years of training both in Sydney and Newcastle. Alison has trained vocally with Kym Parrish in Sydney, and within this time studied the Estill Vocal Method, with a heavy focus on vocal health and anatomy.

Alison has completed her Cert IV in Performance with ED5 (Vocal Major), and a Cert IV in Performance through Urban Dance Centre (Dance Major). In between completing these courses, Alison appeared in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (RMS), Snow White: A Winter Musical (Bonnie Lythgoe Productions) at the State Theatre, and most recently helped to develop a new musical based on the Terry Pratchett novel Good Omens as part of the New Musicals Australia organisation.

Alison has also performed at a variety of corporate events around Sydney.

Since moving home to Newcastle, Alison has appeared in the National Theatre Company’s production of Jesus Christ Superstar, and Metropolitan Players production of Mary Poppins.

Alison’s passion is passing on the knowledge she has acquired, connecting with her students, and helping them make their vocal dreams a reality.

Besides her own private teaching studio, Alison helped to create and then ultimately run the After Hours Musical Theatre Program at The McDonald College.
