Daniel Stoddart – Executive Director
Daniel is one of the Hunter’s most well established performers in our region. He is an actor, director, artist, producer, entertainer, singer, business owner, blogger, designer, entrepreneur, public figure, teacher and writer. He is a busy guy!
With credits to his name for performing, directing and producing events Daniel has over 14 years of theatrical and event experience in the Hunter, Sydney and beyond.
Daniel is a Multi-City of Newcastle Drama Award winner with recent theatrical credits including The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) for Popular Theatre Company, The Pillowman for Stooged Theatre, Shakespeare’s Fool’s for Stray Dogs Theatre Co and Waiting For Godot also for Popular Theatre Company.
Daniel’s Musical Theatre credits include Mary Poppins and Phantom of the Opera (both CONDA winning rolls), The Threepenny Opera, West Side Story, Oklahoma!, Chicago and Grease.
Recently Daniel directed The Book of Everything which received outstanding reviews and a swag of CONDA awards including Best Production.
Over the years Daniel has appeared in many television commercials, corporate videos, short films and voice-overs.
Daniel is perhaps most known as one of the stars in the publicly acclaimed Ultra Swing Lounge. Since 2004 Ultra Swing Lounge has been performing to sell out audiences all over Australia. Daniel not only performs in Ultra Swing Lounge, but devised the original concept, co-wrote and has directed previous seasons.
Over the years Daniel has appeared in many television commercials, corporate videos, short films and voice-overs.
Daniel’s directing credits for Hunter Drama have included DreamWorks’ Shrek The Musical Jr, Disney’s Little Mermaid Jr, The BFG, Roald Dahl’s The Twits, Spring Awakening, Disney’s Alice in Wonderland and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr to name a few.
Some of Daniel’s other special achievements include winning the Most Outstanding Production for Disney’s Little Mermaid Jr at the Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta, USA. Daniel is also an AusGrid Achievemnt in the Arts Award recipient for his services and contribution to the arts in Newcastle and the Hunter region.
