Abbey Fotheringham – Tutor

Abbey is a passionate and dedicated performing arts educator with a strong foundation in musical theatre. She is committed to nurturing young performers, helping them develop their skills and confidence both on and off the stage.
Abbey trained at the National College of Dance and the Hunter School of the Performing Arts, where she excelled in Dance for her HSC, achieving a perfect score of 100/100 and having her compositional work showcased at Callback. She also holds a Certificate III in Assistant Dance Teaching and has furthered her expertise through a Sydney Dance Company-accredited short course in choreographic practice. Abbey is currently studying a Bachelor of Dance Education at the Australian College of Physical Education.
Her performance experience includes Sweet Charity, The Lion King, and Matilda, as well as featured dancer roles in the City of Newcastle Drama Awards and the Department of Education’s Starstruck program
Abbey first joined Hunter Drama as a musical theatre students and then joined the Tutor Development Program and has since enjoyed teaching musical theatre and dance classes. She loves fostering a supportive and inspiring environment for students to explore their creativity.
In 2025, Abbey is excited to continue mentoring young performers and working on new, innovative productions at Hunter Drama.
