RORY COWPER – CO-TUTOR

Rory is a multi disciplined performer and educator who has had a strong love and passion for all things theatre since the age of 5. Since then, their passion and love for theatre has truly blossomed.

Rory’s journey began at the age of 8 where they began dance lessons in the styles of tap and jazz, This inspired Rory to take up drama lessons where they were trained under the guidance of Newcastle director, writer and performer Pip Thouroughgood. Rory went on to Graduate from Hunter School of the Performing Arts in 2023 with great results in Dance, Drama and Music 1. After graduating in 2023 Rory has gone on to complete Hunter Drama’s acclaimed Pre Diploma of Musical theatre course with mentorship from Newcastle’s Alison Hodge.

In the past 3 years Rory has performed in many productions in the Newcastle area, most notably: MARY POPPINS, The Very Popular Theatre Company, 2024. MR MELANCHOLY, Fickle Youth, 2024. PIPPIN, Chookas Entertainment, 2023/2024. A-Z MUSICAL CABARET, Hunter School of Performing Arts, 2023. MICHAEL SWORDFISH, Hunter School of Performing Arts, 2023. And HEATHERS, Chookas Entertainment, 2022.

Rory’s undying passion for Musical Theatre and performance lead them to becoming a Co-tutor with Hunter Drama, so they can continue to develop their leadership skills and understanding of Hunter Drama’s Musical theatre syllabus. After completing Pre diploma in 2024, Rory loved it so much that they’ll be back for another year of it in 2025! Rory is still fairly new to the Hunter Drama family, however, they are THRILLED to be Co-tutoring in 2025!
