Sarah Watson – Drama

Sarah has worked within the Australian theatre and film industry for over ten years and has been producing and directing both independent and commercial works since the age of fifteen. She studied a Bachelor of Performance at the Australian Academy of Dramatic Art where she was tutored by some of Australia’s most acclaimed theatre and film directors and practitioners including Helmut Bakaitis, Iain Sinclair, Wesley Enoch and George Miller. Sarah was employed as a production manager at Sydney Theatre Company before undertaking her studies and spent time at Ambience Entertainment as a props manager and stage assistant before returning to her home town of Armidale to pursue a career in regional arts education.

In 2017 she established Little Fish Entertainment, an independent production company that provided classes and opportunities for regional youth and artists. Sarah recognised a need for specific performance based education in the New England region that not only allowed current creative practitioners to develop and hone their own skills, but for young people to be inspired by, and in turn, discover their own love and passion for the performing arts. Little Fish Entertainment successfully produced a number of short films, dance works and sell-out musical productions while also providing weekly classes in drama, music and dance for over three years.

In 2020, presented with further opportunities, Sarah closed the doors on Little Fish Entertainment and joined the Hunter Drama team. In 2021 she will be completing her Masters of Creative Industries majoring in Screen Acting and studying with the Anthony Meindl Acting Workshop (Sydney) while continuing the HD journey in Newcastle!
