Allon has a long history in drama and theatre. He graduated from University of Newcastle with a double degree in Drama while concurrently running a much loved community theatre company with a rich history of over 15 years of producing original comedies and children’s pantomime, Footlice Theatre Co.
Over the next five years, Allon was commissioned as a theatre playwright and producer for Newcastle City Council Libraries and The National Heritage Trust to create many touring children’s theatre productions. Allon also created Australia’s first Work For The Dole theatre skills projects in partnership in The Salvation Army Employment Plus, an initiative that allowed many Newcastle artists to continue to work in theatre. The projects ran for 4 years and in 2005, Allon received the Newcastle Community Service Award for Contributions to the Arts. In conjunction with puppet maker Jason Newell, Allon also created the very popular Grubble children’s series featuring life-size puppetry and worked with The Civic Theatre to launch their first ever Children’s Theatre Program in 2006.
Allon has also taught Acting and Voice at Hunter TAFE (2009-2013) and still works as a Voice Over artist.
In his other life, he is a well respected audio engineer, music producer and musician.
