Working in the Chorus can be very hard work. Working as an ensemble, you will add your own style and flavour to songs and choreography moves to music by some of the greatest pop and rock stars the world has ever known. Rehearse a short song and routine to perform at Hunter Drama’s Laugh Out Loud Festival at the start of Term 2 for family and friends at the Civic Playhouse.

Continuing from term 1 we will work on a routine to be presented to family and friends at a short presentation performed at the Laugh Out Loud Festival at the beginning of this term. After your performance we get back to basics to reflect on our first performance as a group and then look at singing and dancing in more detail in preparations for your second performance for the year.

TERM 3 & 4

You’re in the spotlight. Learn musical theatre audition techniques and develop your very own solo performance. Work with your tutor to choose a piece that is best suited to your strengths and then rehearse, rehearse, rehearse! Once your piece has been refined participate in a simulated audition. Both your group piece and solo will be presented at a short singing and acting showcase at the end of the course.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS: All students enrolled in any Hunter Drama Musical Theatre courses will be required to wear black Jazz shoes (available for purchase at Bloch, Charlestown Square), black socks, black tights or shorts (NO Jeans!) and black Hunter Drama uniform t-shirt. You will also need to bring an A4 folder with plastic sleeves each week. Hair must be tied back off your face. No excessive jewellery.
