Drew Holmes has been working in the performing arts in both professional and nonprofessional productions for over 10 years.
Having trained in Acting at The Australian Academy of Dramatic Arts, and receiving both at certification for Musical Theatre and Diploma of arts from The Regional Institute of Performing Arts, he has gone on to not only perform in many productions but also write, direct and choreograph for many performances.
He has been awarded with a City of Newcastle Dramatic Award (CONDA) for his role of Amos in Chicago and was awarded with best new comer and best actor in the Sydney Short & Sweet festival, he has co-written a play for the Short & Sweet festival which was included in the top 12 best plays. He was also Nominated for a CONDA his Role of Mrs Twit in a play he wrote with his best mate Shane Bransdon, The Romantic Life of Mr & Mrs Twit.
Drew is a passionate performer with many great roles under his belt, in his time performing he has given life to many great roles such as the baker in Into the Woods, Charlie in Charley’s Aunt, Bat Boy in Bat Boy The Musical, Roberson Ay in Mary Poppins and Charlotte von Marlesdorf in I am my own Wife amongst other roles.
Drew has also Directed and Choreographed a production of Little Shop of Horrors for which he was nominated as Best Director of a musical.
Drew loves being a part of all facets of the performing arts industry and looks forward to what’s next!
